Why should you install a Custom ROM on your Android Device?


As we all know, Android is an open source Operating System which can further developed by developers by having its source code. By developing an existing OS they can add up new features and build their own operating system images to be installed on Android phones and tablets. These are known as Custom ROMs and many Android geeks are willing to install such custom ROMs. But you might wonder why it is?
ROM, stands for Read Only Memory. When you install a custom ROM, what does it do is, it replaces your Android device’s operating system with a custom Operating System. Generally, this OS is stored in the ROM (Read Only Memory) with a new version of the Android operating system which is known as Custom ROMs.  These Custom ROMs are different from the usual Android Operating System and they require for Root access.

Getting the Latest Version of Android

By far the most important reason to install a custom ROM is getting the latest version of Android. The real life scenario is, most of the smartphone manufacturers are never providing updates for their older Android phones and tablets or sometime the updates takes months of time reach the device.
So, if you have an older Android device that delays with its updates or which is not receiving updates anymore and you still want to get with the latest version of Android then a custom ROM is just the great way to obtain it. The CyanogenMod is the most popular Custom ROM in order to get with the latest Android. The Cyanogenmod has its own kind of tweaks, and it is based on the latest stock version of Android created by Google.
A big thanks to the CyanogenMod and other custom ROMs out there. For sure this is an awesome choice to get with the latest Android version for those of the older Android devices which are never being officially updated.
But one thing you should always keep in mind, if you own a latest Android device that is still receiving timely updates without any delays, especially if you have a Nexus device that is produced by Google as it is regularly updated, custom ROMs are definitely for you.
